Effective Immediately:
We have moved to a new electronic medical records system. All patients will be required to provide either an email address or mobile phone with SMS or ideally both. All appointments and communication with the office can now take place without the hassle of phone calls and messages.
Patients will get all appointment notices (new visits and follow-up) by way of email/SMS. Any changes/cancellations to appointments can also be made by email/SMS, by patients and by staff.
All new patients will also receive questionairres by email/SMS to be completed before your office visit. Please be sure to complete these on-line before arriving for your visit.

The Surrey Hospital Division of Thoracic Surgery of The University of British Columbia is very proud to announce that Dr. Emily Mackay has completed her fellowship in Thoracic Surgery. She is the first fellow to start and complete her Royal College Of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada training in Thoracic Surgery in British Columbia at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
All the thoracic surgeons in British Columbia have contributed to her success and we are grateful for the outstanding collaboration of this dynamic group of surgeons. She has been an outstanding colleague and we are all very excited for her future in Thoracic Surgery. She will work with our group for the next 12 months. She has accepted an offer from the prestigious Swedish Hospital in Seattle to join their team in July of 2024. She will be an outstanding addition to the Swedish Hospital Thoracic Surgery group. We can only hope we will bring her back to BC in the near future. Congratulations to Dr. MacKay. She is simply an outstanding thoracic surgeon in every respect. The thoracic surgeons at Surrey Hospital are grateful for the opportunity to have been involved in her journey. We look forward to the next trainee who starts July 1, 2023…Dr. Linda Qu.
